Oscar is the official mascot of Lake City Friends of the Bears. He's a healthy black bear who keeps fit by staying out of trash! He only eats organic & natural foods like berries, nuts, grasses, insects and roots.



Oscar trained hard to run in the Lake San Cristobal 10k race on June 1, 2013. He completed the race in a time of 1:03. 

​Oscar raised a total of $422 in pledges & donations!

In 2014 he decided to walk the 5k and won 1st place in his age category while raising $535 in pledges!

Oscar usually takes time to visit & pose for photos with his supporters and fans before and after the race!​
